Community patio latest addition to the park
A hard-working crew of volunteers installed the new community patio on the Fieldhouse property as part of the latest improvement to the park.
A big thanks to everyone who showed up, and especially to Mike Dica of Eco-scapes by Design who volunteered tons of time and his company’s expertise to create a beautiful patio. Thanks also to landscape designer Mary Tremain of Plant Architect, to Unilock for a donation and great deal on the brick pavers, and to Downtown Lumber for a last-minute emergency donation of limestone screenings. Thanks also to the crew from Yale University Alumni (second picture below), which volunteered as part of Yale’s world-wide volunteer day... the patio was the group’s Toronto project. Councillor Gord Perks and MP Gerard Kennedy also lent a hand.
The patio is part of the Fieldhouse grounds landscaping project funded by a Wal-mart Evergreen Common Grounds grant and spearheaded by the Wabash Building Society.
